Well, back in 2000 I got caught stealing Doc's code and images and I was dealt with accordingly. I put up a new all original page using Doc's code and giving him full credit along with my images. This page which has since been retired can be seen at http://wavmixer.com/index2003.html. I recently did a search for wavmixer and I found this site http://www.jlfusion.com . Not only did he steal my graphics, he also butchered my work and kept my trademark "Bringing you better surphing in cyberspace" slogan.

So you see, now the table has been turned. Y'all were able to turn me around, wanna try to straighten this guy out? I did send him an email requesting that he remove the door with my slogan, however I have yet to hear from him or see my door removed.

BTW, if you wanna critique my latest site, it can be found at www.wavmixer.com

CR08 - come on, try reading his post properly.

he doesn't sound pissed at all.

he humbly admitted - first and foremost - that what he did before was wrong, and that he accepted what he was dealt as a result.

he simply asked if we could help 'straighten this guy out' - not spam him, not haXXor him, nothing like that. just educate him.

all the best, WM - keep us posted on any responses you get. If i get a chance, i'll shoot him an email, telling him what the deal is. Who knows? Maybe he'll be willing to admit his faults, like you, and work on creating his own personal bit of cyber space!

Thanx reitsma,

I'm not mad at the guy, hell they say that imitation is the most sincere form of flattery or something like that. It was some of the OG group here that caught me and led me to create the original the page that this other guy ripped from me. The mouse over script for the door was borrowed from geeks.org with full credits given to doc. You see it was the slap on the hand that I got from people here that led me to creating the whole door concept. What does bother me is the fact that I did create the slogan "Bringing you better surphing in cyberspace", and I asked that he not use that.

What I find most interesting in all of this is the fact that at one time I did not have faith in my skills, so I copied from someone whose talent I admired. Now it seems as thought the tables have turned and someone else admires my talent. In no way am I even trying to insinuate that I have the talent that doc does, but it would appear as thought I do have at least one minion of my own. I am still humbled by talent that permeates the Asylum and frequently read without posting because I have nowhere near the artistic craftsmanship of the regular inmates here. I just had to break my silence and share this bit of trivia with y'all.

Actually after I posted this I thought to myself that it was a stupid thing to do, but hell, it's not as stupid as trying to claim someone else's work as your own. Everything on my site has been 100% original since 2000. Good, bad or mediocre, it's all mine.

No reason for that to stop you. Really........I have no skills compaired to over half the inmates but I have to learn somewhere when i don't find the answer on the internet or books.

Absolutely. But give credit where credit is due. This was one of the most flattering things to do in music but it was always something like "Variations on a Theme by...."

So...did you contact this guy? If so did you get any type of response from him? I've seen some actions take here and it's always been "Contact them first and go from there". Maybe explain to them the same thing you went through...?

Good luck to you and frequent more often

Your site looks good but you might want to pop over to the site reviews forum if you want some feedback.

Take care.

I sent the guy an email, but haven't heard back from him. I'm not to worried about it, I just found it kind of ironic.

I have refrained from posting my new site in the site review section because I already know that the menu script does not work in Mozilla and Konqueror.
