The Live Music Archive has literally thousands of free live shows. Many of the bands are not exactly mainstrem, but there are a few gems in here. Definately worth a look if you've never been there.

A few of my favorites:

Tenacious D - 19 shows
Jack Johnson - 90 shows
moe - 426 shows
String Cheese Incident - 615 shows
Rusted Root - 25 shows
Keller Williams - 132 shows
Ekoostik Hookah - 35 shows

No problem. I knew in posting this that it was not for everyone, but at least one person was interested, so my post was not a waste of mine and everyone elses time.

That's pretty cool.

Didn't find more than a handful that interested me, but, cool nonetheless.

Yeah, there is no more than a handful there for me also, but the ones I found are great. I have always loved live music over studio recordings, so this was an exciting find. That and I am a huge Tenacious D fan, they aren't that great, but I just love the energy they have. They have this wacky harmony going on. Anyone who hasn't given them a shot should do so.

Oh, and I suggest that anyone who thought the internet archive only contained web sites (like me), go take a deeper look. There is a movie archive with old open-source movies. Can you say "Night of the Living Dead" or "Reefer Madness?" And who could forget old government films such as "Duck & Cover" (they also have the old nevada atomic test reels) & "Hemp for Victory."

Fun site.

If you look hard enough on those pages there's almost every sort of music .. perhaps, hidden deep in the collection, you may just find the greatest song in the world ..... I tried, but I only found a tribute to it ....
