      Since you are looking for a "god" javascript book, The JavaScript Bible immediately came to mind.  But this book is really more of a reference book.  It has lots of specifications but not as many examples for beginners.    |

      Yeah, I learned from that Definitive Guide one, and I'd definitely recommend it. It *is* a bit old, but if you really understand it when you read it, you'll have the skills you need to figure out the new DHTML stuff. I wonder if they're going to come out with another edition any time soon...  |
