someoneInverse was kind enough to post some code for me in this thread that dynamically changes the font sizes (it wasn't originally a coding question, which is why it was posted there...).

Anyway, the code doesn't work in Opera 6. Anyone have any ideas why? I used to fool around with Javascript, but it's been so long...

The poster has demanded we remove all his contributions, less he takes legal action.
We have done so.
Now Tyberius Prime expects him to start complaining that we removed his 'free speech' since this message will replace all of his posts, past and future.
Don't follow his example - seek real life help first.

Thanks InI. The reason I didn't post the code in the first place was that I didn't want double post and get canned by a MS...

strange...
removing escape did it for you?
what version of opera are you using?

I posted this on the original thread over in the XML - XSL - XSLT - XHTML - CSS - DOM forum

quote:
just checked it on opera 6, and the code works fine for me although you might want to use px increments since operas implementation of em's is a little non-linear

did you test the code on a webserver via http:// rather than from a file:// location?
- one of operas "features" is that it doesn't get and set cookies from a file:// location

or maybe I should throw the towel in and join the screw opera camp [edit: oh AND the escape statement too]
- what do you think?

have a nice day
I:.

Huh. That might have been the problem... I didn't check it from a web server. I'll have to do that (but not right now).

Anyway, thanks for all the help. When I get to the point where I'm actually ready to implement this, I'll let you know how it goes.

I've never tried or looked for such thing, but the International Herald Tribune's site has this feature. And I guess such a site works on many many browsers'n platform.

Wow, that is exactly the sort of thing I was looking for. I'm going to have to look into that. Thanks for the link!

[Edit: and that is one beautiful site...]
