Me again!

This time, it's a completely wide-ball idea which I'm about to go looking into, but thought it worth dropping by here first.

Does anyone know if it's possible to 'fix' the width of the toolbar button [for use in a Windows only environment] so that a scrolling toolbar text (document.title = scrolling text) is more visible due to the increased size available?

Anyways... off to MSDN...
Thanks in advance.

What's a toolbar button? What does it have to do with the document title? Since when did the document title scroll?

I think Dufty is referring to the taskbar button.

AFAIK, there is no way to change it's size. I'm glad for this. If JavaScript could change its size, imagine the problems we'd have with popup ads. (1px buttons, or 1000px buttons)

Oh, taskbar. Right. Now I got yah.

Eh... I don't think any application in windows can set a fixed width taskbar button. Besides, if your looking to fit x amount of text into the taskbar button, how would you tell and or compensate for what font size/weight the user has set for menu items?

Seems you're right.
I can't find any reference to [taskbar](toolbar? oops!) resizing, and in hindsight, this is a good thing.
Even if it does screw up my plans.
D'oh!

Well no, there's no logical reason why you would.

The task bar has no bearing on a webpage, and if javascript allowed you to control the settings of my computer outside of the webpage, imagine the malicious things people could do to your computer...
