Topic awaiting preservation: History.go(-1) problem (Page 1 of 1)

I have a main window that pops up forms using check boxes. The user will submit the popup forms, and then the popups will close. Then the user will submit the main window which takes you to a confimation page. This is where my problem is...if I hit the back button (or a button with 'history.go(-1)') the main window will no longer be populated. But if the main window is submitted without opening any popups, then you hit the back button, it will show the the main window with what was populated.

I need the user to be able to hit the back button and see what they entered. Does anyone have an idea why this is happening and if so, any ideas on what to do about it?
