There are probably a few ways to do this, but heres how I would do it.
If you wanted to add an image into a shape(s), first make your shape, then cntrl+click to select the shape, then go go to the layer that your image is on (w/o deselecting), and cntrl+c. Then go back to your shape layer and cntrl+v. This will paste the image in the same shape , then you can deselect. Oh and I'm sorry if this doesnt make sense to anyone but me
EDIT: Drag this link into the address bar to see an example using this technique. http://www.geocities.com/cloudman23/example1.jpg
Before a mad scientist goes mad, there's probably a point when he is only partially mad, and this is when he throws his best parties.

I'm with Vp on this one.
Add a layer mask to the photo layer, use the selection tools and brushes to mask out the shapes. Then apply a drop shadow using the Layer Styles. Clipping groupd would work too, but altering the shapes afterwatd would be more work than using a mask.

Did you drag it into the address bar or just click it? Because GeoCities does not allow direct image linking, so you have to drag it to work.

Hi Mark hows tricks? I still pop over to PSG from time to time, still a great site/forum...
talking about clipping groups, ya think it is possible to use a vector layer thingy as a clipping group, then it would be editable? hmmmm, I'll have to try it... heh

Well, thats fine, as long as the image is in the shape of. . .your shape. Then yoou can add bevelling or drop shadows or whatever.

Another alternative would be to fill a new layer above the photo and fill with white. Create the shapes with the pen tool, and the photo layer active. Right click and select *Make Selection*. CTRL+C (to copy), then CTRL+V ( to paste into new layer). Drag the new layer above the white layer. Apply layer style drop shadow.
Another alternative for you, Cloudman would be to place your images in an HTML page and link to that. THen everyone can see them.
