The stages of a painting... Still unfinished too. (thumbnails take too long drac..)

For those of you who don't know, Samara is the little 8 year old girl in The Ring. And for those of you who don't know the story of Samara... Her mother threw her into the bottom of a well and put the lid over to trap her in. She stayed down in the bottom of the well for 7 days before dying. Using her special ability Nensha she creates a tape with her mind, a cursed tape. Anyways the girl you see on the right is her before she's been thrown into the well, and the left is the progress of her when she arose from the well to seek revenge, and her body was bruised, loged, and slightly decayed. Kind of like the living dead if you will. I'm working on two direct references so everything is in proportion, but light/shadow/texture is what I posted here for. I'm really looking for a solid crit on the color/light/shadow/texture of samara on the right. And then after I work on her some more I'll post back what I have .

Why should I take the time to wait for this to load if you didn't take the time to make thumbnails?

Well, he did warn us....

But yeah, you should definitely make thumbnails for images that size.

I could barely blink before those images loaded. What is this waiting you speak of? Pop for a cable-modem, you will thank yourself later.
EDIT: Oh yeah, the picture! It looks good, the nose seems a bit off, other than that it's a helluva lot better than I can do!

Cloudman: That's easy for you to say. Some people can't afford broadband connections, go online only occasionally, or they may live in a region where it's not even available. Those images total up to 350kb. On my cable, it's a snap, but we're just looking out for those who may be on 56k.

Of course, anyone who can afford broadband and lives somewhere where its available, should definitely make the investment. It's a broadband world


Nice painting, by the way. It's always nice to see the actual process behind that kind of stuff.
