Topic awaiting preservation: Masks Questions (Page 1 of 1)

I was looking at the tuts for light effects at Hands On, and was trying some of the layer mask ones but when I applied the light effects filter, nothing happened. In the preview, the layer looked like is should with the channel selected. What am I doing wrong here?

What were you applying the filter to?

Were there any layers above that which could block your view?

Was the correct layer active?
