i don't know whats wrong, when i'm using photoshop 7.0 this is the image i get



but when i jump to imageready i have this



look closely those 2 image look different. The photoshop one is a little darker than the imageready one.
can someone tell me how can i fix this problem?

it was just today this start happening yesterday when i jump to imageready the image look the same

i even try uninstalling photoshop and restalling it again but is still the same
i'm using photoshop 7.0.1

I think color settings are set globally for the 2 programs in photoshop/edit/color settings so maybe you are looking at it with slices on. Curious cuz I don't see the slices. You can set the slice border colors and turn the slice icons off which may make them seem like they're not there when they are. I was wondering if your funky Winskin might have something to do with that as well. It does look like an unselected slice though, kinda dulled out. Monkey around in edit/preferences/slices and see if you can affect any change.

Sorry I couldn't be of any more help than that off the top of my head.

Hmm.. are both of these windows in the same mode? That is, active or inactive?

Looking at the skin, the top one seems to have the 3 control buttons kind of grayed out. I dunno, maybe that's just something to do with your skin or something.

They look like identical red x's on a white background to me. cant see the confusion

how do i reset all my settings and preference just like when i first brought photoshop 7?

Start PS and quickly hold down the Ctrl+Alt+Shift keys until you get a dialogue window asking you if you want to "Delete the Adobe Photoshop Settings file?".

Choose YES, and continue.

try this:
in pshop

1) Open image
goto 'color settings' , eithe runder edit or under image depending on version i think.
Choose 'custom' from the drop down.
choose 'srgb....' from the next drop down.
click 'ok'


2) choose 'image/adjust/convert to profile'
3) choose srgb....
4) resave the image.

open in image ready.
it should then work.

I have not seen the specific problem u mention but have learned that for monitor viewing (aka webdesign) the srgb color space provides an accurate appearance in adobe to what is displayed by IE, NN, and other windows programs. I noticed this problem especially in 'save for web' dialog.

Since i have made these changes on various computers, I never after have seen the problem of 'darker colors'.

What operating system? The following is for XP/2000/(NT?)

Resetting preferences

Close photoshop.

Navigate to [system root]\Documents and Settings\[username]\Application Data\Adobe\Photoshop\7.0\Adobe Photoshop 7.0 Settings where [system root] is your system root (probably C, and [username] is your user name.

Rename the Adobe Photoshop 7.0 Prefs.psp to Adobe Photoshop 7.0 Prefs.old

Start photoshop.
