Yes, I like Earthworm Jim, and I have gone frequently bored in these vacations, so i said to myself, "do something less boring". So i see a flying train pic, and get the idea for this:



I dont know what to say about it, i know many lightsources are way too wrong, but i tend to follow more or less the same the idea i get. Hows dat for vague? ;P

Part of mah original idea involved a carnival and a fortune wheel, tho.

Any comments and critiques?

As for Jim, yes i know he is actually human skin color (i have done other fanart in this oekaki: http://scribble.nomoretangerines.com/), but there is supposedly two light sources, orange and blue. Why i have not made the rest to be affected in the same way? I dont know...I guess i still need more skills with lighttones.


EDIT: Yes, i know as well that the two lightsource on jim are not properly done....hoohohoho, i seroiusly need practice on that =P

I don't know much about Earthworm Jim but your painting is fun. I like the dog

My only comment would be to tighten up your lines so you don't get so much of a blurred look.

hhmm... when I need to tighten lines, I usually shade with the darker tone and build my shadows /contours neatly from the get go. This usually leaves me with a fairly crisp edge. Other times I have to go back and neaten my edges by carefully painting them in and adjusting the shading. If you're used to line art, leave your line sketch as the top layer set to low opacity (so it's just noticeable) and paint underneath. That way you can still make out your lines yet keep things neat.

In this case, I'd just dive right in and paint in the detail over top what you have, taking care to keep my edges neat.

Are you using the blur or smudge tools? If so, I'd ditch them. Try painting with your brush set to low opacity and building your tones from there. Textured brushes are cool for that.

All I know about Earthworm Jim is that it's a game or something? I'll look it up since I should know

Well, i just dled PS 7 (i do all my stuff in photopaint 8.0 ), and decided to resume my annelid on it. I decided to work a bit more on detail, nut just when i thought photopaint could not show brighter the images, ps proves me wrong. I guess ie seroisly need to calibrate ps gamma.

Edges have been defined a bit more..whatcha think? (C&C plz =P)
