I need a tip.
If I have picture 400x300 with 150 px,
and I want 300 px, should I leave PS
to resize automatic or I have manual to
change resolution back to 400x300?

I hope I was clear, 'cause I don't speak English very well.

Thanks.

Can you specify your units? 400x300 pixels? 150 and 300 DPI? I'm not entirely clear what you're asking.

I have a hunch you're asking about changing the DPI of an image. The thing is, if you change the DPI, you're still going go have the same pixel resolution. If you incrase the resolution (either manually or by letting PS do it automatically), you're not really going to increase the *detail* of the image. So I'd recommend you don't change the DPI in the first place. Like, you can make the image twice as many pixels wide and tall, and double the DPI, but in reality you haven't gained any extra detail by doing so. The extra pixels are just interpolated guesses.

If you *need* to have the image be 300 DPI for some reason, then it shouldn't matter whether the resizing is done automatically or manually; the same effect will be achieved either way.

I`m guessing that you want to increase the DPI and not change the image size ?

If that is the case, un check the Resample Image box, and the resolutioin goes up and the pixel dimensions stay the same. And Slime is corect, it will not add any calrity, or detail.

Hope that helps.
