Topic awaiting preservation: Help with image... (Page 1 of 1)

I have this image with a lot of clouds and water reflections but I can't get it right. I have tried to observe real world clouds and reflections but I can't get the grip of it. The clouds in my image feels to "undefined" and the reflections should be distorted by small waves but I am not happy with it. Does anyone have some bright ideas or maybe tutorials?

I've never been a fan of tutorials. But if you insist, Socar Myles has some good ones.

I'd try and either (1) darken the sky or (2) darken the water. One or the other.

Right now it all blends together, kinda. It looks like upside but they could have a little bit darker colorey-stuffs painted into the center of the darker spots. It also looks like you used the smudge tool, which is bad, IMHO. Try varying the saturation in the mountains. Experiment. Stuff.

You know I always imagined you as a flat, 2d peice of artdeco that drank his 2d coffee while painting cool art-deco backgrounds. =)

Isn't it funny how we imagine people to look like their sigs? I've always thought of DL as this disembodied eye...

Thanks for the links and the FAQs. I don't understand who has just registered or something but I guess if I don't get it it's not my business.

I was looking at a photo when I made this image and the water is much darker than the sky.
