Hey guys!
Its been awhile seen I posted a question...just wanted to know how do you really get an image to have this effect? http://atlas.imagemagician.com/images/the_l/jyd.jpg

This pic, looks like the original had some opacity turned down, then placed over the same copy of the same Halle pic, that was faceted.
What do u guys think?
How do u guys get a face to look like this?

If I had to guess, I'd say that was an original airbrush.

My guess is
Copy
Gaussian Blur
Overlay or nearest blending mode

When I want to clean up a portrait, I duplicate the layer, apply a median blur and mask the areas where I want to bring back some details ( e.g. the eye brows, lips, tip of the nose, nails ... ). This very method proved to be as fast as efficient.

Finally to get the ( color ) effect of you sample pic, I vote for warjournal's idea of duplicating the layer and tune the blending mode ( e.g. overlay, hard light, color dodge ) and the opacity.
