I just found this new color correction/ curves plug-in, realy slick as far as I have tested. I don't use many plug-in but this might be too cool to pass up.

PS. If someone could try it in CS I would appreciate it. I plan on making the move in a few weeks and would like to know if this plug in works, as I would like to get it as well.

A few weeks ago I had the chance to play PS CS for a little bit everyday for about a week.
As near as I could tell, some of the bigger upgrades in PS CS are the image correction tools. I not saying they are the only ones, but it seems to me that correction was a major focus.

I looked over Curvemeister, and PS CS has it "built in" so to speak. I couldn't tell you the names of the adjustments, but I recall very similiar things being in PS CS somewhere. I think Curvemeisterish adjustment function is also in PS Elements...?

So, if you are planning on upgrading to PS CS, I say don't worry about Curvemeister being compatable.

not knocking you J, but isnt this just someone selling something that is already built into PS?

seems odd to use a plug-in when the program has the same thing? mind you , I am odd too! lol

well it does as much more funtionality and adds many curves interface improvements. But I am not sold on it yet. I have a little more playing to do before I decide. Like how does it handle a 100+ meg file. I do like the ability to see all the curves at the same time. As well as being able to retouch in CYMK, HSB, RGB and LAB directly with curves dialog while in RGB mode. It also provide a much more robust save and library functions. Which would prove useful.

But like you say, nothing realy you can already do. It just adds some workflow enhancements, as I spend most of my time color correcting it could help.

The only problems I found so far are it only work in RGB mode. Which could be major problem as many of the image I receive come to me in CYMK and I don't want to convert back to RGB if at all possiable. I also haven't figured out how to set the enter white and black points, like the native curves function. Unless it uses the current photoshop enter white and black points. I have to test that some more.

But I think I wait until I see what's in CS before I get this plug-in.

Hi guys,

Google turned up your thread on the curvemeister plugin, and I'd like to chime in with some responses:

J. Stuart J. asked whether curvemeister works with CS. The answer is yes.

Warjournal and vogonpoet asked what features curvemeister has that are not part of basic Photooshop.

Besides the many new features - among which are the new wg-CMYK and HSB color spaces, and better curve interface, the quick answer is the ability to work in several color spaces simultaneously. The long answer is in the tutorials which you can follow 100% using the demo version of curvemeister.

J. Stuart J. then asked about 100 meg files, which are supported provided your system has enough virtual memory, and support for CMYK. CMYK (and Lab) are in the works.

I'm quite excited about this new product, and I feel it will leverage color correction along a wide front for both experts and beginners. Please let me know if you have any additional questions or comments.

Thanks for the info Mike. As I just received my CS pro suite upgrade this week, I haven't had time to fully evaluate the plug-in properly under CS, but so far have been very impressed. The workflow improvements alone appear to make it well worth it. I have worked in Prepress as a color control specialist and retoucher for over 16 years and your plug-in is the first I have found that truely is useful. I realy like the extend sample size and curves interface to HSB. I'm sure to registering shortly and look forward expanded color space support.

PS. Just so you know, I discovered your plug-in while reading Dan Margolis' Color Group.
