It's actually a .gif file, someone simply changed the file extension to .jpg after it was made.

either the person did nothing but change the extension, or if s/he is cautious s/he also added a FORCETYPE rule in an .htaccess in case a visitor use a dumb browser which detemine the MIME TYPE only by looking at the extension of the files

You know you can also completely remove the extension

Thanks about the extension..

do you know how this image was animated.. I mean.. in the on the first image the letter appears showing the second image inside the text.. some masking effect? Can you explain how I can get that effect in Image Ready or Photoshop to animate?

You can use the letters as a mask to reveal the next image/layer.

As it is, the letter slides and gain in opacity. When it has reached the left border and full opacity, the next image gains in opactiy until we no longer see the letter. And the beat goes on, on, on on ...

I've been trying that.. but I still dont get it right.. where should the text layer be? In what mode should the blending be in? still having touble getting it right. For example if I set the mode on the text to 'overlay' it shows the pic beneath the text.. if the layer arangement is like follows:

> TEXT
> PICTURE
> PICTURE

I rather saw it like that:

>     img2' ( it's just a copy of img2 grouped with the letter )
> letter ( a text layer )
> img2
> img1

all layers are in NORMAL mode.

At the 1st frame the opacity of img2 and letter are set to 0%
At the frame, say, 10 the letter is on the left and its opacity is at 100%
At the frame, say, 20 its the opacity of img2 that is set to 100%

Using that method, I just did :

Hope it answers your questions.

[edit2]
In the anim of Cinderella, they surely did

At the 1st frame the opacity of img2 and letter are set to 0%
At the frame, say, 5 the letter is halfway the left and its opacity is at 100% ( or maybe 50% )
At the frame, say, 10 letter is on the left ( and its opacity is at 100% ) and the opacity of img2 is set to 100%
[/edit2]

[edit] fixed a typo, and tried to indent img2' [/edit]

Well an even easier program to use for making GIF's is Paint Shop Pro's Animation Shop, it has all that stuff and more, and it makes it into a GIF's for you. No hassle's or anything and it lays out the frames for oyu also so u can customize each frame. Or if you save a GIF file and open it in the program you can actually See each individual animated image in the GIF and change it as well.
