Anyone wouldn't happen to know how to import vectors as shapes or masks into PS 8? There used to be a dialog in 7 asking you what you wanted to paste but now it defaults to raster and it won't let me paste into alpha or a path layer.

This is really important deadline _soon_

Thx

The only way I can find so far is to load the vector art into illustrator, go to preferances -->File Handling Clip Board and switch it from PDF to AICB select the option as desired. You should now be able to copy and paste your artwork into Photoshop with the old dialog three choice dialog. AICB will non however support transparency effects from Illustrator.

I haven't found a way using "Place", they must have removed the feature or made it some weird key stroke. Pity, you would think I would at least be an option in illustrator to save a .csh shape file. But so far haven't found a way.

Oh, welcome to the asylum by the way.

Thank you very much, I am in the process of finishing up the vectors tonight and will then drop them into PS with your technique. I'll post my results with the precise method you've reccomended. You got into some stuff I wasn't aware of and I can't wait to dig that deep.

Much respect

bTW: I've known about the asylum for awhile now, it's helped me before being able to search without being a member and grabbing great tidbits of info. Nice response on the infrared b&w, very informative : )
