was playing with some planets and some animation this is what i got... not much but the idea was to make some kind of signal running over the grid.... :S

Might be cool to make the "signal" a bit smaller and add trails that diminish as they go.

I could be wrong but I think I remember a tutorial on something similar. Check the FAQ.

Use the exact same technique you used for the "signal", but use several layers (I assume you're using ImageReady) and make each successive layer of a lower intensity and make them follow your main "signal" layer.

From your image, to create that signal effect I'd use successive layers with lowering opacity percentages. E.g. 100%, 80%, 60%, 30%, etc. Play around till you get what you're looking for.

I'm sure there are more creative techniques, but this is the method I'd use if it were me.

lovesMilou the first thing you need to do here, both with the globe above and the "button Sig" you have with your name on. If you look closely, you will notice that they are not quite transparent on both of the backgrounds the Asylum uses.
I think you may have left the background layer (with the Asylum colour on it) still visible when you switch to ImageReady from PhotoShop. To eliminate this make that layer invisible (turn it off), by clicking the little eye in the layer pallet just to the left of the layer, before you switch to IR.
When you have done that we can work on a light trail and reflection in the globe, if that's the way you want to take the animation. I quite like the work you have done so far, and a couple of further "tweaks" here and there, and both will be looking better.

[edit] Here is something else I found helpfull. If you save this web page to your computer, File>Save Page As> Then you can use it to test out any sigs you are making before posting. Just open up the saved Asylum page (I use Dreamweaver for this) then add the graphic you want to test, and preview it. [/edit]
