I have a page at http://www.hyperbole-software.com/index.html . When I run the page through the W3C HTML Validator, I get the following errir for al the <meta> tags in the page:

quote:
1. Line 10, column 63: document type does not allow element "META" here (explain...).
...ta http-equiv="Content-Style-Type" content="text/css" />

Where are they supposed to go? I thought I had seen lots of web pages with <meta> tags in the head section.

I guess the question I'm asking is how do I get rid of all the erros printed by the validator?

hyperbole: I would suggest you use another DOCTYPE - it seems to be objecting to your use of the XHTML empty tag closing and it might be a HTML 4.01 transitional DOCTYPE might throw those errors - try XHTML 1 tarnsitional).

I can't see anything too wrong in what you are doing (although do you think you ahve enough keyword meta tags?):

Emp is correct. On the validation page that shows you the problem, change the DOCTYPE to the 1.0 Transitional and revalidate. You'll see it no longer complains about that line (although it doesn't like your javascript).

Thanks Emperor and Pugzly. That fixed it. Pugzly, you are right, I had to change all onMouseOver to onmouseover and there are a couple of other little things it doesn't like but, I shold be able to get those corrected.

Thanks for your help.
