Here is the deal and I would like to know how you think I should handle this. |

CPrompt: I suspect you might be. However, it depends on exactly what was said at the time - if you have records of your correspondance then you might be able to do get something from the verbal agreement. Do you just want more credit or a cut of the cash? If it is the former then they might be fine with that if you say that it would help you with assembling a portfolio. If it is the latter then I doubt you'll get much joy. |

I really don't know much about the legal stuff, but it seems to me that unless you explicitly told him otherwise, the copyright for the logo is still yours. Sure, you gave him permission to use it, if he credited you in return. That does not give him the right to modify it, and to use it for things other than you intended. I image you did not discuss what he should use the logo for, but if it was implied that it was on a web site only, it seems to me that he should not use it for anything he pleases. |

Well, I really wanted him to use my full logo. But he didn't. He only used in on the Tshirts and stuff. When he put it on the site it looked like crap because it butted right up against the top of the page and he cut half of it off. |

CPrompt: He hasn't massacred your work so I think your best move might be dropping him some advice on placing the logo further to the right as you are right that it doesn't look great in that position (the original was probably a bit too high to work as a logo in that position but would work better as a variant for T-shorts and mousemats so I can see why he has done what he did). I would also check the exact wording of what was said when you were discussing the use of the logo and see what you can find there. |

Thanks Emps and everyone. I did resize the logo for him to fit in the space that he gave me, but whatever. |
