We all need work. I need work (read: money) so badly, I switched banks today because they were offering $100 for direct-deposit customers and $20 just to open an account. I have direct-deposit from my part-time job, I *need* the money, so...

But hey, share the wealth, I say. If you want this client, I'll send you everything she sent me, and you still have a week to bid the job.

A week ago today, a two-page RFP for a brand new web site shows up in my mailbox out of the blue. Client states she's in the office only that day before leaving on vacation. She'll return on the day the RFP is due (Sept 8), just email it.

The RFP says things like "searchable funding opportunities database", "online technical assistance consulting", "interactive media" and stuff. Two pages? Oh, and did I mention the drop-dead launch date is October 27?

In five email exchanges, every question I asked was answered with variations on the theme of, "Everything you need to know is in the RFP."

I looked at it again, and you know what? Everything I needed *was* in the RFP. All I needed to know was, "I don't need this client."

A New York State funded agency... Means deep pockets... Anyone want it?

I'm sorry JK. I didn't really expect anyone to take up the offer. I've forwarded the original email and unadulterated attachments to the address listed here in your profile.

Again, apologies for the delay. I hadn't checked back here until now.
