Topic: Here is a little page to check out (Page 1 of 1)

A good freind of mine and my fiancee's started her own dog training business. So, being the nice guy that I am wanted to do a page for her.
Most of the text here is just bo-bo text until I get with her. Well, let me know what you think.

My first impression: pretty professional looking.

However, i have a few suggestions:
- the canine connection logo looks like its sitting away from the rest of the page. try and incorporate it a little into the blue navbar.

- that fading applet is unprofessional. If you are after a morphing effect then use Flash.

- on all pages except the main page, the section title (eg about us or contact us), jsut like the logo, are too detached from the rest of the page.

There are some jagged edges in the image in the upper right. That image seems a bit disconnected from the rest of the page.

The text in the upper right maybe shouldn't have the "..." in it - allow the line break to cause the reader to pause rather than forcing it with the punctuation.

"All Right Reseverd" should be "All Rights Reserved".

Oh, and the yellow text is hard to read and clashes with the blue. Try replacing the yellow with some other color in most places, and leaving it as a highlight color in a few places here and there.

Also, if I were you, I wouldn't fiddle with the scrollbar colors; the scrollbar looks sorta non-professional. I'd also kill the page transitions.

yep... very professional... but I do agree that the logo is quite off from the rest of the page...

I'll work on incorporating the logo and headers into the nav bar.

mjv: I appreciate the comment on the applet but I don't think that I will use Flash. I don't have it for one reason and two I just don't like it.

I am having a mental block on what to do with that top section with the logo and page headers. I don't want to make it too top heavy but I am really at a loss as to what to do with it. Any suggestions?

<edit>Oh yeah... Do you all get that 1px line on the interior pages on the left hand corner on the nav bar? I can't figure out why I get that here when I don't get it at the house! hmm...</edit>

Wanted to point out the "All Rights Reserved" thing again .. You added the s to Right, but you still have "Reseverd."

And that slogan on the top of the home page should be: Bringing man and his best friend closer together. You left out a g in Bringing and you swapped around the i and e in friend.

I know you said that some of the text is just place-holding for now, but I wanted to point out on the Training Programs page you shouldn't list 'breed selection' under the ways that a pet is trained. (It makes is sound like the pet is learning how to select a breed ... actually that would be one hell of a cool trick )

In your main logo, for some reason I just don't like how the 'on' in Connection is blue. It make me think that 'on' should have some specific purpose or meaning, which I don't think that it actually does.

Looks like a professional site otherwise. Love all the puppy pictures. Is it possible to add a pic of the trainer with a dog?

I don't see the 1 pt like you are asking about.

hehe... I noticed all of that last night after I uploaded the pages. It was late and didn't feel like redoing it and then uploading it again since it was about 1:30 in the morning.

The reason the "on" is a different color is because I didn't want the jig saw pieces to be too big and the text too small. I may redo the logo and use a dog leash hook thingy instead and then make the text one color.

The 1px border is just my freaking computer freaking out on me.

Love the puppy pics. If anything I have that going for me.

I am going to get a couple of pics of the owner and her two dogs for the "About" page. She still needs to get some text to me.
