Took about one day to change the whole interface of my personal art page http://webcom3000.tripod.com/Karn/
I had some problems viewing it... tell me if you see any of those Forbidden things I don't know why they're there but they are... Tell me what you think.

I really like your design. The blues work well for me.

What I didnt like was the pop up... I dont think it is necessary but is a personal taste. I also think that all your graphics could be optimized further to help on the download time. I am still a 56k'er and your splash page took a fair amount of time to load, let alone your main page in the pop up.

That said.. I like your style.. its clean... there was some misalignment problems with your frames.. gaps etc in NN4.76 fyi.. could have been worse

Thanx, I find the image a bit big myself too I'll get them optimized soon... The popup was to keep the size so it's what I want... can you tell me where you see gaps cause I can't see any

http://216.71.144.243/sig/karn/NN4_76.jpg Netscape 4.76(screensot 50kb) has gaps
http://216.71.144.243/sig/karn/IE_4.jpg Internet Explorer 4(screenshot 50kb) looks ok

There are separate tags for frame borders for NN.. cant remember them off hand but I am sure someone here can help

edit: Oh ya .. on the second visit I also thought that the white text hasnt got much contrast against the whitey blue bg colour.. maybe you can enhance the contrast of the text to make it a bit easier to read.. its not too bad..

NEVER use size=1, that ends up translating as point size 1 to unix people. that is way too small to read, even on windows

popup windows in general = bad

the images for your navigation are difficult to read. theyre too subtle. i know when my apartment becomes flooded with sunlight during the day, it will be very hard to read it.

Sorry I never knew the text was too hard to read for some others.... I've tried black but that doesn't fit in the whole theme... I'm not sure if I want to try a dark blue it might not fit with the theme...

what yu could try Karn is too create a semi transparent 'neutral' overlay under your text that allows the background to show through but provides just enough contrast to make the text stand out better... just thinking out loud.. and like I said.. its not as if it is unreadable.. think contrast

got it... I try darkening the background instead... that'll be easy and quick... thanx...

Did anyone notice that you can not see the navigational links? I know it is one hell of a stretch for me to see the links.

I was just reading through the posts and i agree, you cant see the navigational links. I was expecting them to light up a little bit more to see what was going on. Maybe you could make the text turn white perhaps or something like that. I like the background image but overall the design seems to be missing something. I like it, the colors are great, but it just seems like an image with text overlayed on it, needs something to give it some spice.

Just my two cents.

I agree but don't really know what to add... I was thinking of adding a blinking eye to the bottom right of the screen... any idea... some poeple found it long to load... know you don't on my new server...

3p wonders about focus, and why the focus doesnt exist on the clickable areas of the site. "what's up with that?" he says. "sure, you want people to read your entries, but dont you want them to click? if that text for the menu options went white - or at least whiter - i would feel like i was invited to click, but at the moment..." he pauses for composure (which still hasn't caught up with him, it seems), and continues:
"at the moment, it looks like all the links are in some sort of inactive state. like that light grey text on unclickable windows options we know so well. get my gist?"
3p checks his text to ensure his point is put forward as well as he can, fixes a spelling mistake or two, and submits.

..."great", he says, looking at what now should be a slightly more correct post.
"you would think that i would check a sentence about spelling mistakes for spelling mistakes, wouldn't you?" 3p shakes his head, and reposts.
