Well, it took me forever to put a new site. But, here it is. . .
This is a personal site with some "stuff".
I am mostly looking to see if the design is good and all that good stuff. I have some "issues" with it myself, but overall I am pleased with the outcome.
It is XHTML and CSS so older browsers beware. ;-)

I like the colors on the page, gives it a kind of authentic feel

The site is almost rendered perfectly in Moz1.1, but the menu is aligned about 3 px higher than the content area.

I think the text in the top of menu area also blends in too much with the background... I'm not very fond of the frames you use for the images on the gallery page, add some brown in them and they should work better imo.

OK, well. Change the frames around the buttons in the gallery.
Get rid of the W3C buttons and make my own.

Anything else? I know that there has to be more to it that people don't like or would suggest a change other than that. Right?

I like it.

Simple, attractive, nice CSS work.

Only two things I would suggest -
1) make your links in your menu stand out more (maybe make them bold?)

2) Use the @import to hide your stylesheet from older browsers.

Nice work.

Cool, thanks for that. I always forget about the @import. Not used to using it.

I do need to do something with the links in the menu. At the top, they get a little hidden with the background.

I have fixed the CSS on the Pets pages. The images are now aligned with the text on one side and the images on the other. Bad thing is, I had to use the box model hack to do it. I tried to avoid that since that isn't "Compliant". I continue to work on it until I can either do it compliant wise or just say screw it and use what I have.

One question. In the interior pages, I have the titles "About" "Gallery" and such at the top and then again at the right corners. Is this OK, or is there something that someone would suggest.

Thanks for the replys Glad you like it. Took me forever to do the CSS and XHTML. I didn't use a template from someone else, this way I could learn it on my own.

I like it... very elegant. I don't have too many quibbles with the design itself. If I may make a few suggestions, though:

1) eliminate links that go to the same page (in other words, on the home page, you should disable the link to the home page...)

2) The colors in the upper left and lower right graphics don't seem to match... I think the right graphic is more saturated, and the hue seems to be different. It's not glaring, but it does seem a little odd.

As for the text itself, I wonder how the titles would look without the underline. Although not all underlined text means link these days, one could still make the mistake--not to mention that I think it would just look neater without the underline. Your call, of course. Also, I would recommend a spell check before you put up journal entries--typos and spelling mistakes can take away from the atmosphere. I know that the general mood of the web is moving away from any semblance of proper grammar or spelling, but there are still some of us out there who value such things.

Nice job overall, though.

What, there are spelling and grammar mistakes in my journal entries?? Not me
Well, about that. I typed it in Word one night and everything was cool. But. I also saved it in Word. That put extra characters in there that are not nice to XHTML.

I'll work on my writing for ya Suho

I had that two graphics about the same. When I did this it looked even more odd.

I will "disable" the links on the page.

Heh, don't worry too much about me, CPrompt. Outside of those few typographical errors, I thought the writing was fine. I actually found it an interesting read. Just make sure you keep updating it for me, that's all I ask.

hehe, I just saw some of the typos. Kind of funny.

I'll be trying to update about 2 times a month. Hopefully more so on the interior pages.

Thanks for the replys and the advice. Glad you all like it for the most part.

I owe a great deal of thanks to everyone here that has helped with the questions and critiques
