They have Movie Maker for XP, and I believe there's also a free upgrade for it on the M$ site (so you might be able to get it free for other versions of windows) which apparently brings it close to the functionality of Imovie, but I've never used it myself so I wouldn't know.

Izz, I'm sure I've asked this before but I can remember off the top of my head -- what video editing app do you use?

its Adobe Premier uhhh 6 at home. I got a really good deal on it with a breakout box and a card. Not really any true real time... except for the basics. And Avid Free DV at home, because its free, and it can do a little more than the first glance. Avid Xpress Pro at work. Avid DV, and Avid Xpress(some old version) at school.

a friend of mine is a pro video/camera type and uses vegas from sonic foundry and swears by it. there's a free app for the pc called virtual dub that i've heard positive things about but never used, you can prob google it and find it. avid free dv is also a good choice for simple stuff, and premiere's newer versions aren't too bad from what i've heard (i didn't like their older versions tho). hope that helps.

Ay, I've used Permier before, but I'm a complete Avid virgin.

Actually, speaking of weird video apps, I came across someone at last years SOOB festival using a VJ'n (Kinda like DJ'n but with Video) app which looked really damn funky. Was basically just realtime mixing of video with some simple effects, but it looks perty damn cool on the wall of a nightclub/band venu.

Anyone know about this app? I soke to the guy using it, but I forgot the name cause I was pertty smashed at the time. =).
