[blink]www.3dcafe.com[/blink]

Try the 'free stuff' button. I think they have free stuff there but who knows? I'm just guessing!

Yeah, it comes with a tutorial book. Try the tutorials in there.
Then do the tutorials that are in the help file (the files for them are on your CD #2).

thanks alot, but umm is there anything for starters....I still need to learn many commands and tools....the only thing I know how to do in max is moving objects and well placing objects, and I understand how animation work [simple, frame by frame]
but I really dont know, anything about making a face or more complex shapes and particles....well I need a good introduction....maybe there is a good book for srtarters?
or a link?

ruski the tutorials and manuals that come with max are great

but a good book worth reading is the 3d studio max fx and design series from creative professional press

or the teach yourself 3d studio max series from sams press

if you care to actually do a little digging on 3D cafe...click on the link at hte top of the screen 'free stuff', then click on the link that loads up 'tutorials' then select 3D studio max...easy, if you care to put a bit of effort into it.

my links page might help you. Also, you wont get far FAST without paying for some education. its worth the money.

1) The Mastering book series is great!!!
2) www.vtc.com is only $25/month and you can view video of someone teaching you how to use max (7 hours total I think)
3) http://www.applied-ideas.com/training/trainingservice.htm is just $90 / year.
4) spend time every day searching online for tutorials... they are out there.
