Since it's a bit slow I though I would show off my first real complex model in Lightwave with a soft shadow painted in Photoshop. |

Mas - looking at the machines I have next to me here, both with metal cases, I don't see anything that I would describe as a "metal texture". Just looks like flat paint to me....just like in the render |

Shadow? To be honest mostly lazyness, and alos I wanted that catalog photography look which I am use to creating. |

have you tried using a render with global illumination? should give you a render with a shadow closer to what you're looking for. |
