Which of these actually provides a preview of the php code? If it does, does it require a local webserver (with php of course) or can it be configured to work with a "internet" webserver? hope to get some help from the community here. thanks in advance!

Take a look through the reception room before getting lost in the halls I haven't used any of the programs but it would be wierd if they allowed you to preview the php without installing a local server first. But maybe they come with a server allready installed... I kinda have been using it of late. heheh no offence. InI, how did you configure your dreamweaver MX to preview live from the internet server? I just wanna verify so we are talkin about the same thing.. what I want is to code in php and xhtml and have the preview (the php scripts are actually being parsed on the internet server). Now that you mentioned both have such ability, kinda torn between the two. I want something that doesn't come with a lot of inbuilt junks and is xhtml compliant with good css support.. haha am i asking too much.
