Topic awaiting preservation: First in a long time (Page 1 of 1)

This is the first graphical signature I've had in a long time, mainly due to a lack of hosting space in the past., but, here's hoping the transparency works.

You either need to smooth the white line or set the matte color to the Asylum average. I like the design though, and I like the minimalistic design of the sig, not too complicated, but it keeps your interest.

Skaarjj, I was wondering (if you don't want to, no worries ) if you could possibly post that jaggie sig, along with the fixed one, when you get around to it at http://faq.ozoneasylum.com/935 ?

Its a good example of how even a good sig look bad.

I just need to figure out how to extract the background without losing some of the smaller components

if you made it in PS, and it is black on white... just put it into a channel, and make a selection from it.

extract the asylum coloured background from behind my black sig in order to preserve the little bits coming off the sides. Normally if you select the background, since some of the bits have anti-aliasing on them, the selection picks them up to, and most of them dissapears.

Wait wait wait, lemme see if I get this straight, DL. They make layered PSD's now? Wish I'd known that the other day! Where can I pick up a few of these "layered" PSD's?

its goin in dah FAQ. So far we have added bad sigs.... I think these 2 will fill the remaining slots for the good and the ugly.

Yes, it does look rather nice properly transparent.

Would like to perhaps see it a color other than black though (not a crtiticism, just thinking out loud)

eyezaer: No...it doesn't have any significant meaning. I was just stuffing around in PS. I came accross an old attempt of mine at a knife, and the central core minus the cutout bits was the shape of the blade (only bigger). So I took that in, played aorund a bit, added a few random thingies, a couple of whatchamacallits, and this is what I came out with.

What about a differet color? I think a blue, or dark red would look really cool. Cool design though!

ok...two new colours...asylum blue and asylum orange.

cool work skarrj - that last yellow one looks funky.
i reckon a darker orange, a dirty one with just a tad of texture would rock.

but that's a very intruiging pattern to work with. groovay stuff
