well its still work in progress, I will resize it and stuff.....
just wanted to know what do u think about the shape and all......by the way what kind of effect may fit this shape.....I am thinking of something "aqua" like

so what do ya think?

It looks interesting, quite tribal-ish... but so far the letters don't seem to be very inegrated with all the shapes. The font doesn't really fit, it's much too square for the smooth and flowing shapes you've got. All the pointy and sharp ends make it look very agressive, I don't know how intentional that is.

Yup Yup...aggresive smooth and sharp...thats 100% Ruski style....not only in PS but also pencil/paper....i developed that style while learning how to draw....my goal was always make the eyes sharp narrow and smooth....later I started to do the same thing with hair as you can see here some stuff I have done a couple of years ago........most of you have seen it, but heck [I NEED A F#$^*ING SCANNER]

Ruski: Looks a little too blurry and the font still needs some work. Starting to look good though I like the idea and how you've realised it.

IMHO stick with the yellow and maybe play about with the satin style, bevels are often overused, and the blue glass style doesnt really match the halloween orange of the asylum

Definitely go with the yellow...

This type of design always works better flat - the flatter the better.

I would go a step farther in the yellow one even, and remove the whitish outline - leaving simply the orange/yellow solid color.

Sorry if it took me long.... I was just too lazy or didnt have time.....

anyway I decided to remove my name and simply go with shape.....also added some outer glow just for kick

For a "tribal" design the edges should be crisp and clean. The outter glow effect you used just makes the edges look fuzzy, IMHO. If I were you I would also get rid of the six shapes across the bottom. They dont seem to be tied into the body of the piece and it would make your sig shorter as well.

i agree the outer glow doesnt work very well i kinda liked it when you had the lighter inner glow going on a previous version, also this could be a bit smaller, just see if you can size it down a little without losing detail

well what about removing the name is it better? or not...

I'm just wondering and this may be a silly question, but

Did you use the pen tool with anchors to make these shapes?
I'm thinking of making a tribal tattoo for myself and was wondering how I should go about it.

Yup. The pen tool is simply made for this stuff. Open PS, whack that F1 button, and you've got a great explanation. It's a bit weird at first, but when you get the hang of it it's a great tool.

haha yeah dude, thats what its just for.....actually I am having trouble doing it with pencil and paper....but man, pen tool just kick ass....and hey its my first try using the pen tool, so dont be shy....pick it up and play around.....

Here is good advice......look for some cool looking shape you like, and try practicing coping it first before making original.... open it as a new file, then make a layer on top of it and start adjusting your shape using the pen tool.

After practicing for awhile try make your own......

Actually I didnt copy anything, just did several tries and look what I got...

Its pretty easy!

Yep PSP has a pen tool - its pos. not as good as PS' yet but it works well and PSP has support for Shapes which are like cliparty things (hows that for a poor explanation). Have a look at the resources here:
