From personal experience I've found that Yahoo!'s customer service is appaling. They expanded rapidly sucking up all sorts of services but if a technical problem happened during the switch or after it was impossible to get anyone to reply to an email (I gave up after about 6 months). So I wouldn't hold your breath on this front even if you threaten all sorts of reprecussions - I just don't believe there is anyone manning the phones. It would be an interesting wake up call to do something about this on the copyright front but waving around DMCA is pointless if its not followed up. I would imagine we could track down a new media lawyer who would love he chance to take a shot at Yahoo! - in some ways they piss me off more than BSS - he was a misfit who doesn't have to answer to anyone while Yahoo! are gigantic (bloated?) company who should be more responsible. We can do our best to police this area but without the backing of big firms then we are screwed. Anyone fancy taking this further? |

Ok, I've been examining a couple of pics (rips) on BSSs signature page...check the ferrari out. Not the actual model, but the reflection...see what I mean? Where one would expect Delta V to be mirrored, it's something else...could it be a clue to the original designer? Unfortunately, it is very hard to read...could someone help out here? I'm at work, so don't have PS here. I'm sure with a bit of 'work' in PS maybe the name could be 'tickled' out... |

This is about the best I can do. I used a Grad-Map to do it -- works and easier than I expected. |

No, not michael schumacher!! I meant the reflection on the floor, not the auto. Where you would expect the Delta V to be mirrored...but it is something different...Delta V is two groups...but the reflection is three...can you see what I mean? BTW - good work on 'sharpening' the schumacher pic that was clearly 'pasted on' afterwards...and you can tell that the Delta V was put on there...and the original whatever was there before 'cut-out' (or stempled over). |

I can't actually show it to you cuse I sodn't have a server to store my images on, bt if you invert it horizontally and vertially, invert colours and then perform an unsharp mask you can read something. it looks like U RT C...something. That's the best I could od with it, but htere aredifinatley three character groups there. Well spotted WS |

*whispers to WS* So we get to castrate them? Fun! I thought though...for SPECIAL cases like BSS, we could string them up by the balls from high tension power lines....how's that sound? |

Maybe the actual copyright holder of the stolen artwork needs to be the one contacting these companies? Could be they won't take 3rd parties seriously. Maybe they need to hear, "I own the copyright to this image and if YOU don't take it down..." Maybe this has been discussed already and I missed it. Quit looking at my balls! |

They have paper cuts... so why not 'paper amputation'? I mean, you'd go through several reams of paper as each sheet became... soggy... but with enough patience, I think it'd work. Hardest part would be going through (or around) bone... unless you restrict yourself to soft tissues... |

I think cyoung is right about the actual copyright holder doing the contacting. I think it would be a lot more effective, especially considering that we can't really do anything on someone else's behalf unless they authorize us to do so, right? |

I was wondering. Heh. What do you suppose would happen if 2,112 random.. uh.. surfers.. all hit that heavy-ass main page simultaneously? OK, I need sleep, but the thought is amusing to me right now. Bandwidth charges? Server go sizzle? Lotsa 404's? What does happen with a huge, unexpected traffic spike like that? Maybe we could start a pool for the bss superbowl halftime show. |

Ha! BSS would probably wet his pants...interesting idea tho....yeah, driving up traffic in huge numbers might go over his bandwidth resulting in higher costs...hmmmm...have you got a 'robot' program that can do that? If so, drop me a mail....I've got a flatrate with DSL....so I can stay online for as long as I want without paying more.... |

WS: I'd be a little concerned that doing something like that might be venturing into some urmmm... grey areas. The next step is a DoS attack. He'd be able to find your IP and I know I'd report you to your ISP. You'd also be boosting his visitor numbers which for some reason seems to give him great pleasure. |
