ok, this guy [ http://www.brainfire.net/ ] has been caught ripping comics and his whole site is basically a copy of Penny-Arcade and Twistedmonkey. The ripped comics can be viewed here (he ripped this one) and here (he ripped this one).

Now, on his main page he *claims* to have taken 3 days to write that tickertape pop-up, but it is also clearly ripped, go ahead and take a look at the source code - it looks like he just took out the copyright/credits.

I'm hoping by posting that someone can find the original script that he has ripped.

Well, I do beleive that this is the script that he is using

Yep, just looked at both of the codes and they are the same. No changing of the function names or anything. I can send an email to the person who originally wrote the code and let them handle it. So, I am going to do that now. So don't worry about the script part I'll email them right now.

OK, the ONLY thing that I did was email the person that originally wrote the code, (Peter Gehrig at http://www.24fun.com). I gave him the link to the site and said that I just wanted to bring it to his attention and he could deal with it as he saw fit.

That's all I did and that is all I am going to do. I'm not going to start posting threats on his geustbook or anything

So if I do hear anything back I will let you all know.

nah, I don't think that DL is a wise ass really. I like his sense of style actually.
I think that he just doesn't want the Asylum to viewed as Skarjj says "vigilantes".

Whatever, I think that if I or anyone else had written a piece of code like that and someone else claims they did, they would want to know about it. Right?? So chill out. Sometimes you gotta be straightforward with people. DL leaves nothing to the imagination in his posts. I respect that. In fact, I prefer it when I get a straight up response to something, as opposed to a tangle of politically correct jargon to spend my afternoon figuring out...

Synax if i ever get good enough for my stuff to be ripped i hope someone sees it and does what you did, i cant help wondering what someone here's reaction would have been if it had been hios stuff ripped and you spotted it ??? once WS gets the ripper report sorted then hopefully there wont be a need for these posts here unless its to highlight a member who has had his stuff ripped...

Even then...that memeber should be contacted via email first, and if they decide that anything should be brought to light in the Asylum, then they should be the one to do it. Never ake the mistake of assuming you know what they would want you to do and taking it upon yourself.
