eh... my absolute favorite? I don't have one.

Korn, Staind, Eminem, and Linkin Park have the highest playcounts on my mp3 player, if that helps (and not in that order). They're definitely what I prefer to listen to, but I don't have a favorite amongst the 4.

Manayard James Keenan (vocals)

Adam Jones (electric guitar)

Justin Chancellor (bass)

Danny Carey (drums)

Let me just say, no offense or anything, but TOOL is not and never will be TOOL again without 1 of them, they are all vidal, Manayard has a fucking good voice, adam is a totally innovative guitarist, justin's riffs play lead, and his bass sounds soooooo good, and no one plays drums like danny carey except maybe slayers drummer... By the way It was Manayard AND Adam that started the band... And Adam makes all the videos...

Suho, I don't think they tour in asia but once in japan or so, try downloading some of their music (unless your one of those piracy people) and see if you like it, toolband.com is a good refrence to them, to me they are so, abstract, and in that sense, gothic. Which is why I like them.

I'm with Wolfen on this....and also her list...

However, the Doors are really high on my list...as is smashing pumpkins, filter (if you don't know 'em, then find out, fast), Björk (gotta love her), Alanis morrissette (sp) old R.E.M....and of course Boston, Journey, Kansas, ELO (oh, yeah!), Moody Blues, Jethro Tull, the Animals...*WebShaman drones on, and on, through the night...* Fleetwood Mac, Black Sabbath, the Who, the Band, three dog night, satanna, Eagles, steely dan, hawkwind, emerson, lake and palmer, *night turns to day, still raving on...* blue öyster cult, cold chisel, *on and on*

As for Asian bands...Loudness (the old group, not the new one...)...and Ghost of a madness (at least I think that is correct...great band).

New ones? Linkin' Park, definetly, POD as well, Tool is not bad, but Staind rulz!!!! Creed is also good...

I like a lot of techno/trance stuff. Paul Oakenfold, Richard D. James(Aphex Twin), Timo Mass etc. . .

I like older rock stuff like King Crimson and Yes too.

Favorite musician is David Russell. He is an English classical guitarist. Amazing player. Saw him a couple of times live and wooo. . . Favorite composer (classical) is Edgard Varese and George Crumb. Wanna hear some freaked out classical stuff check those guys out.

Korean pop, on the other hand, is good for mindless listening. Just like 'boy bands' are popular in the States (they're still popular, right?), 'girl bands' are popular over here. There are, of course, some artists who are really worth listening to. I like Kim Geonmo (weird lookin' guy, but he's got a really unique voice) and Yi Seunghwan, for example. I pretty much stopped buying CDs a few years ago, so my collection is pretty stagnant now. I just don't like most of the new stuff.

And then there is Neil Young...just everything from him... *WebShaman continues to babble on* Pink Floyd, White Lion, Whitesnake, Venom, the first album from Sisters of Mercy (before the band broke up), Midnight Oil, Jimmy Barnes (but mostly his older stuff, right after Cold Chisel broke up...), Inxs (definitely the first two albums), Peter, Paul & Mary, Blood, sweat and tears, *another day comes and goes...WebShaman is like a commercial for Energizer...* , John Cougar Mellencamp, Dokken, old Judas Priest, Van Halen (yup, before the reformation of the band with Sammy Hagar), Bon Jovi (also old stuff), Rush, Nirvana, Soundgarden, Stone Temple Pilots, Alice in Chains, Silver Chair, and last, but not least, Led Zepplin (except for the last album...) *Whew! AC/DC - Absolute favourite! Old Fart Metal
Boy Hits Car - Alternate Metal
Children of Bodom - Death metal
Iron Maiden - Heavy Metal I'd guess!!?
Nightwish - Synth Metal
Ozzy Osbourne - Done to much crack Metal
Pantera - Thrash Metal
Sepultura - I think its Thrash Metal
Slayer - Very Thrash Metal

My Hate list
poop - Crap Music but if its old its is better
(Ooops i accedently put an extra 'o' in pop. But really it doesn't matter it's the same shit anyway, heh! )
Commercial Heavy Metal - If you listen to this you probably listen to Britney Spearms too.
Heavy poop - such as linkin park and other crap that doesn't deserve to be on the surface of this planet.
All other music except the metal genre. hmm...you don't think I'm being narrow sighted , nah I didn't think that either

Pink Floyd (always on the top of the list along with the Doors)
The Faint (if you can find 'em download Conductor and Agenda Suicide by them)
David Bowie (I bought his new CD and its pretty decent. The bonus disk is better though)
Teenie bit of Zero7

When I'm in more of a rock mood I go for

Metallica always!!!
Misfits (The new famous monsters CD)
Tool is decent I'll admit
and the classics a la Blue Oyster Cult, Zepplin etc.

And when I wanna mellow out:

Sublime
Radiohead again
Tom Petty
Bob Dylan
Some downbeat techno stuff like The Orb, Robert Miles, and maybe a tad bit o' Portishead

There is of course a TON more that I listen to but these are the ones that make the list (even though it is a pretty big list)

my influences are pretty wide - if hal and bacharach wrote it, there's a fair chance i know most of the words to it.

for today's music, i listen to JJJ, australia's, if not the world's greatest radio station.
