I'm beginning to wonder and worry about all of us..seems we all have a profound nature ...

I just bought a new car..korean cause i can't afford anything else..i'm in love with my car..
i worry about this too...

and on another topic i'll be away for a few days...going to a friends house for the holiday..a net friend..i'm worried about that too..(been friends for years but also been there before but still*L*)

on another topic.. it's been busy at work the past week today was a total brain f**K...someone came said 11 and next thing i knew it was 8:30..i said.."that's nice..you aren't getting it..what drug are you on?" next thing i hear is.."you said" and i replied "that's when it was 11 now it's 8:30 and you are f**king dreaming dear".
i am worried about someones sanity..cause i actually made their time frame...the pricks..
i worry that i'm being to great

I am also worried that i just did up the new website for our company..boss came and asked me to do the entry page graphic..i went skuse me boss..i'm having a total creative block..then over the weekend i figured out what to do..went to work and nailed the puppy..today boss tells me "damn that's good and amongst all the umbrella companies "your graphic looks like the folks who made the template made the graphic"...i'm worried that i'm not getting paid enough *L*

I need another beer..

That hurts, ettie.

And I've got to admit, I have absolutely no idea what you said in the fourth paragraph up there ("on another topic...").

I can only surmise that you are not in a proper state of mind. How else would you be able to say such hurtful things about Korean cars?

One of the commandments on starting a thread states....

quote:
7. We have a good proprotion of young people (quite a few aged 14-15), women and people from various religious and ethnic backgrounds so if you are linking to sites which might have a strong, adult content (remember linking to porn is a not allowed at all) then please bear in mind that you may be offending people and so if you do choose to post please make sure it is clear what you are linking to (don't just drop an ambiguously titled link into a thread).

Although no links were posted, its just as applicable.

Um, just to clarify: I was kidding up there. I wasn't offended, really.

I still have no idea what ettie is talking about, of course, but that in itself is not too much of a problem.

Of course, after kaboi's contribution, I am now doubly confused. It's just been one of those days.

BTW...the car is lovely....it's just not that cavalier sports coupe with the sun roof that i wanted.

Fer petes sake...! Now, there was NOTHING in what I said that ANYONE could have taken offence to....not even in the craziest of moments. If anything i just said i loved my Korean car...!! Man i just don't even even see what you thought you may have seen there. You can take your chastisement and read it YOURSELF and get a clue.

YES..now I'm offended.

I'll get over it but I'll probably be keeping my OBVIOUSLY biggoted self to myself. Drink the guinness yourself! Probably the only guinness virtual or otherwise I'd ever refuse.

UGH.

in my 4th paragraph I meant someone came to me and told me they needed a series of graphics by 11 am. Next thing I know they've changed it to 8:30 am and it is 8:00 am at the moment. I was ready to kill someone. I was ranting about that cause it ticked me off even 8 hours after it happened. (probably still doesn't make sense but it's not big up there on the list of national problems)

Course..now that I've just learned what a bigot I am cause i love korean cars...well....i have to say..i deserved it. I mean who am I to say that Koreans are m aking good cars now days and they are inexpensive and have ten year warranties. I should be shot and hung as a bigot. I mean obviously ...it was a cruel and unusual thing showing racist overtones. Probably much worse than anything I've ever damn well done in my life.

What can i say...woe is me.

I apologised and all you do is reply with some $hitty rude comments, that I was out to make you look like an a$$. You do a good job by yourself.

I'm sorry but that is totally bull$hit & uncalled for, and yeah I will go have a guniess and try to forget about the whole bloody thing.

And to Suho all this time I thought you were Korean!

Perhaps we could talk about the topic, which I am very interested in...

The topic seems to me to be able to be a bee being busy by buying baby boys.

Nevermind...

The topic seems to be: What is wrong with our morals?
Why do we spend money on things we don't need, just to look stylish?
Why is our society so caught up with fancy box's with crappy food inside, and with meeting deadlines that don't really matter.

At least I think that's what ettie meant.

I like pie, too, actually. I think my favorite is probably lemon meringue or chocolate chiffon, but when I'm in the mood for something a little more down to earth, I always like a good apple pie. Yum!

No blueberry pie, though. I was just never able to get into blueberries.

Great, now I want pie, and I'll probably end up going downtown and paying $15 for a slice of real pie. *sigh*

No, I probably wouldn't have to pay that much... it was just a reference to the fact that I have to pay about $12 for a pint of Guinness...

To answer your question, though, a decent slice of cheesecake at The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf (which has the best cheesecake I've been able to find in Korea), costs a little over $3. Pie just doesn't seem to be as popular as cake here, and it's more difficult to find. I can't imagine that it would be that much more expensive, though.

Ettie - I have a Korean car myself, and excepting the outrageous cost of the service I do have to have done on it, it has been a wonderfully reliable vehicle. My only complaint is that the thing goes through brakes like no other car I've owned. And every other time you change the brakes, you have to have the rotors machined. $350 a pop...

But for the maintenance I have put into it, which in the grand scheme of things, is not much... the thing still runs like a top. In fact, just this past weekend, the oil cap disappeared from the engine. All I can think is that it must not have been screwed on completely. And wouldn't you know, the engine did not experience any problems with the decompression, as one might think. It still runs just fine. Simply amazing.

Some Korean cars, *cough*Diahatsu*cough* are not so reliable... I've been impressed with the Kia...

I prefer creme pies, chocolate and lemon and such, and Key Lime, and ok, well, anything without nuts in it. I'm not a fan of nuts. (and I have a feeling someone might want to take that comment and run with it...)

And I don't see why we should make ettie feel like she can't express her silly and nonsensical side in the "Philosophy and other Silliness" forum. I think that's what it's for! Not every post must have a point. In fact, I've seen several around here that simply don't. Ettie, I like your style - don't run away now!

Great. Another glitch and another lost post. The post had actually gone through, and now it's not here anymore. So, the short version:

bodhi: Daihatsu is Japanese

ettie: While I appreciate the sentiment, I'm not really sure what you are getting so upset about? Who ground their heel into your face? Like DL said, the issue was resolved a long time ago (which means a few days ago in Internet terms), and I think we're all ready to move on to better things. Like pie.

And yeah, DL is totally right on this one. Not that I want to grind my heel in anyone's face, but this thing got way out of hand. I kind of wish I had never said anything in the first place. I just never have been able to resist the opportunity for a joke.
