No, explode is correct...because of the pressure differences...that in the body, is far greater as that in the near vacumn of Space.

Heck, as long as we're talking outer space, why not give them a self-sustaining space suit with an IV, and all the air they could want, and let them die of cosmic ray damage? Not only would the isolation and emptiness drive them slowly insane, but I'm assuming cosmic ray damage would have the same overall effect as radiation sickness, which is a pretty unpleasant way to go.

Of course, there's the cost factor; compared to launching someone into space with years of supplies, it would probably be a lot less hassle just to pick from WebShaman's list.

if we had the technology, we could shoot them flying through space in a missle shaped capsule, with no heat insulation or heat/pressure regulators, and eventually, if done fast enough, he would freeze to death, then explode at the same time

My personal favorite - death by sensory deprivation tank...

I can't imagine a worse way to go...your brain literally starving for sensory input, all sense of time lost, slowly getting insaner and insaner...one long nightmare after another...and totally alone and isolated.

Or even better, a tightly sealed sensory deprevation tank packed with oxygen and floating out into space.

Sensory deprivation? nah... ask any Sufi... the mind is quite capable of sustaining and entertaining itself when deprived of external stimulation.

I think the opposite would be far worse... endless noise and war reports channeled directly into the eardrums at intolerable and agonizing volumes... being denied sleep for weeks on end till madness and insanity set in... eyes stapled open and blazing lights shone directly into the defensless retina... and then sucking your eyeballs out with a high powered hoover... having a scorpion plung it's sting into your tongue... while hot bleach is dripped into a drilled hole in the back of your skull... having your penis rasped to a stub with a hot cheese grater... and then in a frenzied craze... dying alone as a shamful enemy of god...
