I found a really great site that contains a copious amount of information about many of the world's religions. I've only begun to delve into its depths, but it promises to be a great & well balanced resource. I just thought y'all might like to check it out!

God, Allah and all the rest of them now have a pressence on the web. Can we buy stocks in religion? Seems like a no brainer.

Cool site! I took the Belief-O-Matic test and according to their scores my beliefs most closely parallel those of Liberal Quakers or Neo-Pagans. Hmm....

mob68com:

Sure, you can buy stock in the religion of your choice. Just send $299.00 for each, to me. I accept Pay-Pal, major credit cards and even personal checks.

Well it seems pretty accurate:

quote:
1. Secular Humanism (100%)
2. Unitarian Universalism (99%)
3. Liberal Quakers (91%)
4. Theravada Buddhism (80%)
5. Mainline to Liberal Christian Protestants (80%)
6. Nontheist (74%)

is Nontheist an Atheist?

I though this was funny (having been brought up a Catholic):

quote:
24. Eastern Orthodox (16%)
25. Islam (16%)
26. Orthodox Judaism (16%)
27. Roman Catholic (16%)

Only 10% Roman Catholic! Interesting seeing as I was raised a Roman Catholic. It's fairly accurate although my beliefs can't really be analised with those questions. I often found myself searching for an accurate answer but ended up choosing N/A because there wasn't any optons even remotly similar to what I believe.

It said I'm an old time seeker -(under the spirituality test)-. or something. But like drac said, most of the answers I gave were just my best guess, seeing as how most of my thoughts were not expressed in the questions.

--For the belief-o-matic it said--
1. Mahayana Buddhism (100%)
2. Neo-Pagan (97%)
3. New Age (88%)
4. Hinduism (85%)
5. Unitarian Universalism (81%)
6. Theravada Buddhism (77%)

Jestah, Dracusis, what did you put for the sacraments question? [edit=If I may ask] I tryed it with and without (high/low) and the Roman Catholic results came out vastly diffrent.

I scored a 75 which makes me a Questioning Believer ? You have doubts about the particulars but not the Big Stuff.

I am actually quite comfortable with that description. All these online quizzes are so approximate, but this one was kind of decent.

Spirituality Test- 58: Spiritual Straddler – One foot in traditional religion, one foot in free-form spirituality

Belief-O-Matic- (Pretty darn close...)
1. Neo-Pagan (100%)
2. Mainline to Liberal Christian Protestants (97%)
3. Unitarian Universalism (94%)
4. Mahayana Buddhism (90%)
5. Liberal Quakers (89%)

23. Orthodox Quaker (30%)
24. Eastern Orthodox (16%)
25. Roman Catholic (16%)
26. Islam (15%)
27. Seventh Day Adventist (1%)

An interesting thing I noted... For everyone who posted their top 5's in the belief-o-matic... Unitarian Universalism was listed. (eyezaer- was it by chance listed in the 4th or 5th position on yours? I see you posted your top 3) Just an observation...

mmm... I don't believe it was in the top 5. It is a *very* broad term though. Looking at their definition of it, just about everyone would fall under it if you have an inkling of spiritual belief at all.

Christian Scientist 100%? Nooooooo!

And the worst part is that I only answered as I did because I had been reading too much Neil Gaiman recently. Normally I'd be too agnostic even to believe in the test.
