a. Arizona was beautiful, but dry, empty, and boring. I saw my best friend graduate from military training (if I said what for, he'd have to kill me, but anyone in the army knows there's only one thing you train for in Arizona). Bopped around the base for a bit, then flew back. Bright point: my aunt works on American, so she was able to get us first-class tickets each way for $145 total! [does victory dance]

b. Jeru the Damaja is an NYC rapper who stands on the fence between gangsta rap and social-conscience rap; as such, he gets tall props from rappers in each camp, from Wu-Tang to Mos Def. His 1993 album "The Sun Rises in the East" has a song called "You Can't Stop the Prophet," where he's a black Muslim warrior against the supervillain Ignorance. Goofy stuff, but the song "Brooklyn Took It," on the same CD, is classic NYC hip-hop.

c. Going to have a serve up tomorrow, if not tonight. Probably tonight, since I just have to whip out a pleasant foundation for improvisation, not a finished piece. As per my habit (and main skill), it'll start as an Illustrator piece; I'll provide both an AI and a PSD.
