Matt --

not a bad start, but there are some problems.

1st, the colors are rather dull (and bear an uncanny resemblance to the gurusnetwork).

2nd, the shape has major major jaggies!!!!
if you would like an easy way to create that shape with a more refined look, then go here: http://www.gurusnetwork.com/tutorials/photoshop/shapes1.html

it should help a great deal.

3rd, the buttons need 2 things: they need to have "endcaps" of some kind, so they're not just hanging in the middle of nowhere. they also need the text to have much more clear cut definition -- make sure the "anti-aliased" box is not checked when you do the text, and make it a color with more contrast with the rest of the button.

I'm not an expericenced Photoshop man, I have yet to buy the software (I guess i'm waiting for a price drop!), but as DL said it's a good start.

Just to run somethingby you why not make the buttons one contious line, maybe under the matt-rich logo? and then save any space to the right of the logo for ad banners? Just a suggestion.

With enough time and pride you will succeed, and remember do what you want and not what other people want you to do. I found that out the hard way!
