ok, I started this thead, to share my little joke with you, it was for entertainning purpose. WTF,now slime is saying he might not reutrn to this forum if you people keep cussing. Who started spreading the cussing content? make him/her buy beer.

see, Doc has build such a great site, WE HAVE NEVER RUINED IT, we all repect it(I do, not sure about the rest), and it has nothing to do with cussing, and I do'nt see Doc has posted any rules of 'no cussing', at least I never seen it (cuz I never try to find it), well still, if Doc doesn't support with the Freedom of Speech, he can tell all of us right here right now "[b]no cussing, bitch[\b]", then I swear to god I will use language filter.

I used to be a extremely mild boy, after waves of stress, I started to swear alittle bit, (it felt good), believe me, you are not cussing is because your life is easy, no conflict, no unfairness ... when they gets to you, you will surrender to it. Well, stay off this cussing topic now.

Fact is, this board is young and as it matures and more people join, I'm 100% sure they'll all be different. Everyone pines for "the days when..." but, as the saying goes, "those *were* the days." It's not so bad, it's life really. Everyday I have to wade through stuff I don't like to get to what I do like, everyone does. If you can't work and play with people that get on your nerves, offend you, or just plain suck, life is needlessly more difficult.

I'm normally one to just skip over a thread like this, like everyone should try if they don't like it, but I felt that what <sarcasm>I have to say is way too important *NOT* to be heard.<sarcasm>Hheheheeeeeeeeeeh.

As a mad scientist I really should be closing down this thread because its getting borderline sexist and so forth but I'll leave it open because of its entertainment values and the hopes that someone else will close it down.

Maybe I'm just missing something here or perhaps I'm just ignoring something but where did this argument start from? The original topic was about Galaxal's interesting story. How did we span off to actual degrading women and censorship? Amazing. I think its human nature to pick a side of an argument and defend it without really thinking much about it. There are some people in this world that just feel every halfway negative comment coming in a general direction of there race, religion, gender, age, etc., is an offensive attack against them. I'm not really taking sides in this little debate we have going here. This isn't the first time that this topic has come up nor will it be the last time. I really just want to share my opinions and let that be it.

For starters, where did this actually come from? Mr. Max made a simple sig. There was nothing degrading about it. It was a pretty girl with the guys name on the image. There was no nudity. In all actuality the girl wasn't portrayed in any degrading position (that she did not agree to). From there we spanned into the confused life of Mikey Milker. Mikey makes comments, he does that, we've come to accept it. He sort of makes things a little bit more interesting. Maybe some people could actually say his sig is a little uncalled for, but why are they uncalled for? He used the word "fuck" but he didn't direct it at anyone. Why should it be any different then any other word?

galaxal made a joke about having girls find glasses. Is that really disrespectful? Why is that? In a group of peers and somewhat friends should we have to watch what we say to make sure no one gets offended? With such a diverse population here is that possible?

Maruman says all teachers want to fuck him, we know that's not true because Im a thousand times better looking then he is and most (if not all) want me.

Rikimaru suggested running a filter so words that are considered bad could not be printed, such as c*****n. A good idea to say the least, but there's ways around it and with so many different backgrounds and cultures could you possible censor EVERY foul word?

I really don't see what la'dsasha was getting at when she talked about seeing women being treated as objects. With no other information then Mr. Max had a picture of a girl we had been accused of treating women as objects. Am I wrong? As pointed out his sigs were PG - 13 and now we advance on the topic of language.

The was a few people who stood up for la'dsasha by stating the obvious that she was only stating an opinion. Weren't we all? It just blows my mind that we have gotten this far into this new topic. I personally do not see how language creates a bad or good atmosphere here. Its more of the context of it that would create that atmosphere. I haven't really seen anyone say "Fuck you ... yeah you ... asshole." It's more of the lines of "damn, who saw the Mets game last night?" Would it be a lot nicer of a place if we said "Gee wilikers, did anyone see the Mets game last night?" I don't think so. Why would anyone not want to visit the Docs forum because the occasionally "damn," "shit," and "fuck" are tossed around? Why are these words different then "cow" and "dog" ? They can all be equally offensive.


Basically what Im getting at is who honestly cares if there is a girl in someones sig? As long as its not serious hard-core nudity why should it make a difference? Why should it make a difference if people use swear words in here? If you don't like them then don't repeat them, its that simple. There's really no need to have this conversation.

LANGUAGE: I censor some words on this forum. Most of the words are some kind of cool "elite" speak, with all the silly characters, you know what I mean. Also banned is the name of a certain current president of the USA. I *could* choose' the censor all of the dirty words I can think of, think of George Carlin's "Seven dirty words", but I will not. Those words are simply too commonly used, I don't think they *should* be considered offensive any more. Fuck 'em if they can't take a joke. Europe is much more sensible about these things; swedish TV has lots of nudity, occasional use of foul language, but very little violence. What would you rather your kids be exposed to?

OPINIONS: You should all have them. They should be yours, not someone elses. They will all probably differ from each others. That is a good thing. If you must disagree in a strong way, please refrain from any personal attacks, OK? This is supposed to be a friendly place! DarkGarden's comment about "a forum that is obviously taking a backslide" really hurt. Please don't make it true.

IMAGES: Hey, this forum is all about webdesign and stuff like that? Photoshop is part of that. Now if people all wanted to start posting their favorite porno pics I wouldn't like that very much. If someone wants to use an emotionally charged image in there sig, I will simply not censor that.

SEXISM: Hey, this industry should really have an equal mix of the sexes, shouldn't it? Why doesn't it, are guys more able to handle the rigours of Photoshop? There's no reason for it, but their *is* a disparity of the sexes. I welcome a better mix of people here, and you should too. If the act of *you* expressing yourself drives too many others away, maybe you should make a personal effort to not do that. Personal choice, *your* choice, and *individual* choice made by each and every one of us here. Yeesh, I don't even know what to say about this issue. This is the internet, these are your colleagues, the best thing about this medium is that it doesn't matter who you are, how old you are, what your sex or sexual preferences are, we should judge folks by WHAT THEY DO and HOW THEY DO IT.
