You could always just paint in a mask of the area you want to select. That would be the way that I would go. |

F1_error: Could you explain how I would go about doing a mask of that area? |

Enter Quick Mask mode (the grey square with the white circle under your Forground / Background color selector) select the paint brush, line or air brush. Paint the area you want masked / unmasked. When completed go back to normal mode, (the white square with white circle) You should now have your selection. Should you have it reversed, hit Ctrl+Shift+i to invert your selection. |

also try using your color range selection tool... (SELECTION--->COLOR RANGE) You can use this tool to pick colors of similar ranges, and with a combination of the '+' and '-' picker along with the fuzziness slider, you might be able to get selection that way. |

1. I would copy the layer and desaturate it. |
