I know I started this topic before... but anyways since DomainZero now charges $25 us, does anyone know of a cheaper and maybe a better service?

ok... so.. what's the point of starting it again...?

If i'm not mistaken http://www.namezero.com does the same this as Domainzero. The only thing is that Namezero put a big ugly ad frame at the bottom of your domain.

See I want to get away from any banners.. damn domainzero... I only registered my real name .com and now I want a different one just to screw with. Anyone heard of any free places? or at least really cheap

they have one package for $9.95 a month with cgi and a cheaper one at $6.95/mth no cgi (both 500meg storage)

check em out... bad news is there is a set up fee I think...

I have also used www.crosswinds.net in the past, is free, I think they have a volutary banner program though.... BUT there server is pretty slow on occasions and I had problems accessing the account via ftp too

they are the only 2 I can think off at the mo,, hope that helps

It has been very fast and reliable for me. There was a one time fee to register your domain name but I think that applies anywhere.

I think my site has only been down once in the past 8 months that I can recall. Never had any problems with the billing either.

I use http://www.doteasy.com 20MB free, additional services for a charge (e.g. $60 US for CGI). Excellent e-mail support.

Domain name is $25 US yearly, or 5 years for $15.00 = $75.00 US.

Also, You can get a domain name for about $10.00 US a year at https://joker.com but you have to transfer it to a host.

That's the best I've been able to find. Good luck.
