But they want a spanish translation too.

Soooo.... we need someone to translate english to spanish.....

Any good will?

(btw: handson french version is on the way!)

I'd do it, but I'm swamped here at work...

I'd love to do it, but the first chance I'll get is about 3 or 4 weeks from now...

will this do?

OMERA! Have you tried: http://www.babelfish.altavista.com/translate.dyn
I've used this service but I have no way of knowing if it is translating correclty since I know only English.
Would you let me know if it does good French? Maybe it would be OK for Spanish too.

Actually, I'm thinking for the short run we should pick a translation service and create our own urls that will open the new window with the tranaslator all ready to go. We could use this as a temporary kludge to open the archives to as many languages as they could handle. Not a perfect kludge, but not bad either, hey?

As it was said before, automatic translation doesn't work well... It ok for a giving you the general meaning of some litterary text; but for tutorials, that * won't * work.
Translators make really weird translation; and for filters name, for exemple, that's completly meaningless... Lightning effect, will be 'Effet Eclairant' instead of 'Eclairage' which is he french version filter's name. Do you really want to spend half an hour browsing every filter till you find the good one? Don't think so.

And above all, tutorials are sometimes really sharp, involving user to follow really sharp instructions; so with a translator, user can hardly follow half the instruction clearly...

I tried, yeah, oh god, I tried to test various translator, and not even one gave me a usefull translation... always word by word translation ...
Seemed to me that babelfish is one of the best.

But as doc said, that could be a temporary solution, waiting for human translators to make their job... <img border=0 align=absmiddle src="http://www.ozones.com/forum/wink.gif">

I will submit that to the Guru's, and see!

Many thanks, petskull, for your proposition! Be sure you could afford that job, and for the delay of 2-3 weeks, ehh, maybe that would fit? I will ask! But we are not in a hurry, ok?

So, many thanks to everyone, and see you soon!

Hmmm...Mabry...you do realise that this thing has already been discussed in the 'French Version' topic. As stated there, it tends to translated word for word, not phrase for phrase, so the translations often don't make sense, and it tries to translate photoshop terms into their nearest equivialnt words, so it often will screw the entire tute up and stuff. Sorry to burst your bubble.
