The person who started that topic about which sig is better more or less asked for everyone's oppinion. You gave it to him no matter what kind of oppinion it is. I really don't think you did anything wrong to anyone...

No, If you were, your reply to what was said would not have been so apologetic. I thought you backed out gracefully.

Eh, we all just need to realize that some people are more harsh than others, plus we're all in bad moods some times, etc. So when we see posts like that we gotta count to ten or something, realize that opinions are opinions, and get on with our lives. Y'know? It's just not worth making a big deal over.

However, I will say this.....
Posting this new thread and re-directing everyone's attention back to it IMO was not the best course of action... at all.
You've now made a spectacle of the whole situation....and IMO.... it was completely un-needed.

IMO, it was a simple comment about the nature of mahjqa's posts.
i believe that mahjqa got DG's message, and, well, to tell you the truth, so did i.
i am often annoyed at the limitations of text, for especially when one is hurried (and consequently, careless), it is far easier for one's 'tone of voice', and intent of message to be misinterpreted.
posts like DG's remind me to re-read my message before i post it, and make sure i think that it wont offend anyone (unintentionally!).

DG's post was regarding things that happen here........why not address them here?

mahjqa's post was undeniably rude and arrogant, and DG addressed that fact. Plain and simple.

mahjqa then appologized, all was kosher.

this post now opens it back up, and invites a lot of headaches.

mahjqa: I never thought of you as an asshole before, but this thread makes me think otherwise.

Seriously though. A question was asked as well as an answer given. DG blatantly over reacted for no real reason. Personally I see nothing that merits a response like that, nor have I ever noticed anything that seems to cross the line. In other words, post however you have in the past and if you piss of people, well who cares, its the internet.

I have only one thing to add:

the comment made by mahjqa was NOT in response to any question. It was regarding uneek's(?) sig, who did not ask nor mention anything about his own sig.

Just to clarify, as there appears to be some confusion over that fact.

I could be wrong but, telling someone that there sig was done using an obvious method, isen't very rude. Now had he told him that his sig was newbish, and that he should shove it up his ass, well, that would have been rude. Its his opinion that uneeks sig was obviously done, who the fuck cares, move on with your life, no need to bitch anyone out for the way the post. This coming shortly after this http://www.ozoneasylum.com/Forum3/HTML/000864.html , in which DG told someone to "cram it horizontally up the vertical orifice" (there tutorial). Which is IMO, a little more rude then what mahjqa said.

reve, the difference between DG's comment and mahjqa's is that DG was commenting on the piece up for comment.
however, you are right, mahjqa's comment wasnt that bad. But, DG made his comment about it, it made a lot of sense, and it seemed he got the message, and we could all move on.
things got silly when mahjqa opened this thread. no-one thinks you're an asshole, and if they do, who cares.
all this thread did was give substance to DG's comments about "generally begging for approval".
Things got sillier when morons like me kept commenting about how we should just move on, and its no big deal, and then decided to still put our two cents in anyway.
and so we have threads about threads about threads until we forget why the hell we are flaming someone. but lets not let that stop us.

Hmmm, Reve takes a comment I was making about the futility of writing for third party filters, and turns it into a personal attack on the author of the thread?

And he fails to mention my post right after it praising the author and giving support for the direction he'd be headed in....and yet he cites the thread for people to read.

Correct me Reve, were you the one who posted threads bitching at me for shutting down your warez posts, and then falsely accusing me of deleting your threads when the Asylum Gremlins went haywire the last time and deleted half the forum? I thought I recalled your name, but I don't want to be wrong about the reason.

For the record...if anyone cares about records...other than broken ones...I stated what I did, publically, for just the reason that buncha mentioned, a vain hope that it might be READ and appreciated by anyone and everyone that would need to. I feel mahjqa's reply in the thread over in the Sig Forum was quite well handled...I was impressed, and thought, for the briefest moment, that the "petulant flames" wouldn't come.....


and then I saw this thread...and wondered at the reasoning. I don't wonder now, I just shake my head.

So if it's asking and answering that threads are for, then I'll try this one.....

Mahjqa...I don't know if you're an asshole....but you certainly can act like one, apparently. As can anyone. I, myself, am quite the asshole...

Want to see a difference? I know it, I admit it, I work on any weaknesses or flaws that it exhibits......and I don't whine about it, or ask people to vindicate me for it.

But then...that might mean I try to learn, without opening my maw first....and that seems to be a rare concept at times.
