Mouse pads, coffee mugs, T-shirts,...how do they stick a digital image on it. I wonder how that process works. |

I haven't done this in a while, but it used to be a "dye sublimation" process, the ink is thick, and the paper it's printed on was waxy. After you printed, you could apply it to whatever you wanted. (The image was printed backwards.) Looking at the results, I have to say that they're doing something more advanced than I was doing, the mug images are scary sharp, perfect! And it goes through the dishwahser, no loss, what's up with that? |

The mug is made out of a Ferro-ceramic/Polymer mixture and the design is printed onto it by use of a toner roller, like a colour photoscopier, but much higher quality, the mug then has it glaze put on it, that way the imge is on there till kingdom Come. |
