Sash, that configuration will work fine, but if I was you I would buy a new ASUS A7V133 motherboard (difference is that this one uses the new VIA chipset KT133A), also I would buy a little bit larger HDD, SB Live (even the Value version) instead of SB PCI 128 and the full GeForce 2 GTS graphic card (not MX version), like ASUS AGP-V7700 (Deluxe)... Nevertheless, you've choosed a good configuration...

I'm with max on this one. Get the newer mobo and upgrade the hard drive.

20 gigs fills up real fast.

Also, save some cash for some decent speakers and a really nice monitor.

For the video card, I'd go with the ATI all in wonder, but I'm a connection freak.

Every piece of electronic equipment in my apartment is hooked up to the computer...heh

i gotta 1.21 million jiggawatt pear....it's tasty!

I made a very very stupid choice getting celeron, very stupid, I am having nightmares time after time because of that.
is AMD good? I feel so much difference between p3 and celeron, for my next PC, should I go for AMD or pentium?

also, I have nVidia's anihilator mx, can I still have something like a TV card, so I can watch TV without removing my nVidia card? actually, I want to watch TV and play console games (psx) with my computer too (not but using emu but with AV output from the console)?? is that configuaration possible? what do I have to buy?

I would have to say that the ATIthe ATI all in wonder/PRO is a shitty video card. Does do alot though. Just no one thing very well, pecially 3D. Get the nVidia.

i would not buy another asus board if my life depended on it. i have a year old board by them with a crappy chipset that does *not* like AMD or AGP vid cards.

lupus (my machine) has an abit board with RAID controllers and an nVidia GeForce GTS vid card. aside from that, its not much different than what youve got.
