that doesn't answer my question.
I found out that ARTISTS all choose to use Mac because mac can handle graphic types of thing better than windows, and that seem true to me too, the color is alot richer on mac then pc, but I am not an artist, so I dont feel shamed to use windows, and I think windows is alot more flexable then mac. EXAMPLE: once there were alot of files in one folder, I wanted to see how many exactly were there, and I had to count it with my eyes, and I still haven't found out how to let computer count files, tell me if you know. And so, it's finder is lame, blabh, I feel shamed to talk about Mac's flexibility now. later

and please tell me registry location if you know, thanx

Heh, I love my mac too! (HINT: Every window you open on the mac has a number at the top of it, that is the number of files in that folder. Quite simple, really! :-)

Oh yeah, the question! I never actually manually edit the registry, it's safer to just use the Registry Editor, (HINT: Start, then Run, and type "regedit". Quite simple, really! :-)

I like having both platforms, both Mac and Windows, lets me take the "high ground" in any of the religious debates re: which platform. FWIW, the Mac, (which I love) does NOT have better graphics, not anymore, we all use the same graphics cards now! The biggest advantage it *does* have is that most of the Photo and Page Layout programs were written first for the mac, and then ported (usually not-so-well) to Windows. The reason for *this* is that so many of the old-school graphics professionals started doing graphics on computers long before windows machines could handle it, back when their graphics really *did* suck. The manufacturers of these apps know where their money comes from, more paid versions from graphics professionals (mac), and lots of warez-kiddies swapping the windows versions around, heh. Nowadasy, if you're not one of the converted, it hardly matters which platform you work on, I recommend the one you're most comfortable with.

(Actually, I recommend anyone who's really serious about this work to do as I do, and get one of each! You can never have too many computers, but you can certainly have too few! YMMV!)

I think that was an answer to a question.

(btw... what does YMMV mean?)

Your Mileage May Vary

Hmm I'm with Doc I stay out of these religious debates. I used to bask in my glory at work of having a g4 to do graphics and a PC for other things unfortunately I started doing a lot more coding than graphics so they took the G4 away..

Personallly I found the g4 much better for doing 1 thing really fast (usually just Photoshop and ImageReady) but the PC for multi-tasking

my $.02

Back to the original question though if youare trying to prevent something from starting on boot, try this, it's safer (bear with me here its a pain to find this tool but it rocks)

START>>PROGRAMS>>ACCESSORIES>>SYTEM TOOLS>>SYETEM INFORMATION

Then select the TOOLS menu and the SYETEM CONFIGURATION UTILITY

In there you should have acceess to your autoexec.bat , config.sys, sys.ini etc.. Check out the START UP tab. in there are all the progs that run on boot. you should be able to remove anything that is bothering you.

P.S. If anyone knows the actually path to this tool can they let me know?

I'll play attention to that spot when I get to the mac place today, thanx. wait, does it matter OS7, 8 or 9? or they all have that ?

and also, the count files is just ONE of the things that (Mac < Win), also, on windows, you can high some items and it shows total files and hdspace occupied by those file... and alot more man.

on the mac, the ICONS, mmmnh, yummy. I noticed the Internet explorer ICON on mac, it's (oh, shit) good, feels like glossy and shiny and translucent, also, the Mac nature adds that icons are like PNG, they are X% transparent, fucking beautiful. and I like the scrollbars, IE interface blah blah, it just look far better tehn windows. Also, this maybe the monitor at the place is better, I see a significant difference when I go to photoshop color picker between windows and Mac, on Mac, it's alot better, I can't decribe it, it's just nice.

that's my $.001

thanx for the regedit thing.

mh, is the screen resolution saved in regedit ???

I don't kow why, this computer is 300mhz, Mac 8.5.1, 192MB RAM, when I get to the ozones homepage, the moving bars move like shit, it twItches like a bitch, I am not saying Mac is bad, I am just trying to find out why.

Your faith has betrayed you. Ozone's homepage is laggy because you do not believe! Infidel, go back to windows.
