I just got this email about Federal Bill 620P. It`s about a 5 cent tax on emails imposed by hte postal service. Anyone else hear of this? Is the Post Office gonna tax us for a service it doesn`t provide or is this just another BS thing ? |

Well I haven't receieved that yet, but I don't suppose the postal service has any jurisdiction at all so I would have to say no, its BS. Where did you get it from? A realiable source or one of those spam letters saying send this to 200 people and they can't impose taxes. Seeing how the US Postal Service is not associated with any email service I don't think its at all possible. |

I'm not sure about you but I would really limit use of email or not use it at all if that happened. That may be the true thrust of any such action since the PS is losing bazillions by people not sending snail mail. Just a thought. |

I dont think it could happen because the people would never stand for it. I know a lot of my friends from school fire me over plenty of surveys and other crap, probably at least 50 a day easily. After a while, that 5 cents would add up. I know I wouldn't use email, I would just chat in Instant Messages. |

WOW! docilebob, our government has more foresight than I thought. They started the Income tax in 1903 so they could finance World War II. That's pretty good! |

Dissuading spamming could be nice, but it?s the same as every other little charge. 5 cents this year, 6 cents next year or the year after, at some point people will be saying 10 cents per email damn, I remember when it was half that. |

Federal Income Tax. Hmm... It's fraudulant. It's as bogus as the e-mail tax. Go to Freedom Mall and look for a book called How to Cook a Vulture. It tells how to get a full refund and to not get your checks garnished. It's around $50, but it pays for itself with a few hours of reading and work. |
