I'm wondering if I can move a scsi controller, and one HD, out of a system built specifically scsi, and move both to a non-scsi system? I need to replace my IDE HD and my only choice (w/o purchase) is out of the dead scsi server I have. |

I don't see a problem as long as you have the scsi controller card. Also, make sure that your BIOS allows you to boot from a scsi driver if you're using the scsi drive to run your OS. |

when you boot up the Pc, it will say "Push F1 to enter setup" or something similar. setup is the same as bios in this instance. |

Some SCSI controllers are not bootable, there needs to be a SCSI bios on the card. However assuming your other system was booting off a SCSI drive with the same SCSI controller you should be fine. |

I just thought about the motherboard. Does it have to be scsi too? Is there such a thing? |
