I'm wondering if I can move a scsi controller, and one HD, out of a system built specifically scsi, and move both to a non-scsi system? I need to replace my IDE HD and my only choice (w/o purchase) is out of the dead scsi server I have.

I don't see a problem as long as you have the scsi controller card. Also, make sure that your BIOS allows you to boot from a scsi driver if you're using the scsi drive to run your OS.

when you boot up the Pc, it will say "Push F1 to enter setup" or something similar. setup is the same as bios in this instance.

Some SCSI controllers are not bootable, there needs to be a SCSI bios on the card. However assuming your other system was booting off a SCSI drive with the same SCSI controller you should be fine.

I just thought about the motherboard. Does it have to be scsi too? Is there such a thing?
