third person inspects the backgrounds closely, comparing to doc's:
"No, no, this is ok, definitely not a duplication... see? these are DIFFERENT colors, doc's is only ONE color. It's all above board."
sitting back, he then wonders how well fellow asylumnites can pick up painfully obvious sarcasm.

I took the lead this time. Tough to find a contact link on that site, for obvious reasons, but I found one and scallded them with bile, heh, heh

Nah sash, my boss at the time was really cool and he hired me back again at the beginning of the next quarter (I work here at school).

Basically, I got a bunch of spam in my inbox and wrote a scathing reply to all (I won't go into details but it involved the creative use of a spatula ). How was I to know it would go to the President of the school and the board of trustees. heheh

Let us know what happens, Allwyn.

I am ready to attack but I want to wait to see how the Doc wants to proceed since it's his background and all.

Shocked. Think that Doc needs to decide. But if it's not koscher...this site needs a big spanking. Talk softly and carry a big stick.

Oh this is so sad, it's almost boring, sigh. I'm just in the works, moving all of the background archives to my new/old site "primalshape.com", where I'm going to start collecting useful and interesting shapes (as masks) for folks to download. The backgrounds make a fine addition to that new service, I figured I'd put them there and see about eating up some of the additional bandwidth at Dreamhost that's going idle! <g> I don't even know if I can build up the energy to go after another lam-o thief, all the rest of the site looks so friggin bad, have you seen the other backgrounds there?

Yeah Doc, I've seen'em. But the issue, I think, is important. It's about stealing. And there is one in particular here at the alylum that doesn't seem to get it, that stealing is wrong. One Ducati. And if such thefts are not punished, then it just encourages others. From the tread under photoshop 'how do I install plugins?'
from Ducati 'Why would I say that I bought software if I never did?? 99.9% people in here has some kind of software installed on their computers that was copied... common.. let's be honest here. Do I really want to spend 600 bucks for software???? HELL NO!!!! I would shoot myself before I do that. And to be more honest... every single thing installed on my computer is a copy. It just happend that people came up with CD burners, blank CDs and oh looke here... it happened that my friend has a PS6.0!!! Oh boy.. I wonder what I am going to do... hhmmm blow 600 hard earned cash or 1.50 for a blank cd and make a copy....'
I think this problem is seemingly widespread, and that it's time to take a stand.

I'm getting 404 for that metal bg and it's hue variations. Taken down perhaps?

Is that all they have? Hue variations? That is so sad.

I don't know Doc's bgs well enough to spot more.

Just to make it easier
http://www.ozoneasylum.com/Forum17/HTML/000141.html

WebShaman... now be honest...every single program that you had or have on installed on your computer and the computers you had in the past is hard copy from the store??you send out your registration number and all that stuff???You read all the license agrements????

If you read the post that I linked here you will see that even Doc tried out COPIED photoshop version...

Don't act like you are a damn Angel here. You will tell me that every software you have or had was bought from the store? You didn't borrow any of them from your friends??

You migth want to start a separate thread about me having COPIED photoshop version if you are so uptight about it. If you are then, try to make people to be honest like I am trying to be and ask them what copied programs they have installed. You would be surprised. Or just read the post above.

And who said that stealing is a not problem??????????

Look Ducati, what you do on your own time is nobody's business. It's good that you're trying to be honest, but about the only rule I've ever seen in here is the one regarding warez. Now, you can go to the philosophy forum and there's a topic on it if you want to get things of your chest, but the definitely word on this is it's not something to talk about.

Everybody has their opinions and Webshaman is entitled to his as you are entitled to yours. But it I'd like to remind you that there is a time and place for everything. If it bothers you that much, like I said, go to the philosophy forum and post your views and then you can get into a nice little discussion about it. The same goes for Webshaman.

This has always been an open and honest forum, but until they change the laws we don't want to do anything that could potentialy get Doc in trouble. Most people respect that and I'm sure you two do as well. So let's just drop it now before somebody closes this thread before its time.

Yeah...what silence said. Actually, somebody on my i-workers mailing list wanted to buy PS6 at ebay, won the auction, got the pack - and guess what. Of course. It was a fraud, burnt, pretty prefectly duplicated package. He's contacted the authorities and ebay now. I don't mind anybody making copies for personal use, but selling them afterwards - that guy needs to make donation to the Asylum population!

Thank you Quarath... you are completely correct... the only reason why I posted it is that Web over there edited his post and copied my post here... so I just made it easier for him and gave the link

I wouldn't want doc to get in trouble of course. Who would!!!

And trust me...talling someone that my program is a copy just get it off my check is the last thing on my mind. I have other things to worry about but mutli billion dollar company didn't make 600 bucks on me.

Let's change a topic. Like Silence said.. everyone has their own opinion. Just don't expect me to sit here and watch some douchbag change his entire post and talk about me, that I am a thief without defending myself

Silence, you're right. I shouldn't of posted that here. When I make a mistake, I admit it. My apologies.
To quarath: Look man, ducati posted that stuff first, and it was in Photoshop. Otherwise I wouldn't of commented on it.
So I think that is enough of it here. For more, see philosophy.
